Summers, Emanuel Candidates for Obama Administration (Update1)

Nov. 5 (Bloomberg) -- Barack Obama's top priority will be appointing a Treasury secretary and White House chief of staff. The leading candidates: two Clinton administration stalwarts, Lawrence Summers and Representative Rahm Emanuel.

It's unlikely the president-elect can assemble a Cabinet and staff within 10 days as some have advised, say people who have discussed this with him in recent days, all of whom asked for anonymity. Still, given the financial crisis and two wars, Obama, 47, is bound to move more quickly than either of his two predecessors in making key personnel decisions.

Summers, 53, is favored to return to the Treasury post that he held under President Bill Clinton because Obama values his experience and familiarity with markets and global leaders, a crucial asset during the markets crisis.

Still, people close to the president-elect stress no final decision has been reached and that Timothy Geithner, president of the New York Federal Reserve, is also a strong contender. Geithner would also be welcome by many in the financial community; at age 47, he would be a fresh face in an administration that ran on a mantra of change.

Geithner is the man behind Bernanke who is responsible for the mess and besides Paulson responsible for the collapse of Lehman since he as NY FED had to supervise them. If Obama takes him we will not see any change at all - he works for the Goldman/Rothschild boys

Summers same thing basically the deregulation of Banks started under Clinton as he himself admitted hence Mr. summers ain't no sign of change but a guarantee the old connection gets up again - no good choice either.

Rahm Immanuel - I worked in Investment-banking and no one can earn 18 mio in 3 years by contribution to the operation (considering no prior experience)- thats the way lobbyists get paid. Keep in mind that Dresdner Kleinwort is a second tier German operator with close to no buiness in America - he was one of the best paid guys in this bank, especially since he worked in the Chicago office - no deals at all. Dresdner went almost bankupt long before the current crisis and was taken over by Allianz. The same Allinaz that owns Pimco who pays Greenspan big money for obscure advice. In 1998, Emanuel served on the Chicago Housing Association board and was repeatedly accused of undermining fair and affordable housing for low-income minorities. Opponents cite incidents during which Emanuel left concerned citizens meetings in which Section 8 housing destruction was authorized, to talk on his cell phone or take early lunches. He has never publicly commented on his CHA years.

People who worked with Emanuel at that time "insist the once hard-charging staffer has mellowed out."^[9] He left the White House to accept a well-paid position in investment banking at Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein in Chicago, where he worked from 1999 to 2002 and reportedly earned US$18 million.

With Uranus, Pluto, and Mars found in his Seventh House of Relationships, Barack Obama will inevitably come across some powerful personalities over the next four years—assuming he takes office in January. In traditional astrology, these three planets are known as "malefics", and they tend to bring problems and conflict in whatever house they're located. The Seventh is the house of partners as well as open enemies.

Using the technique of Astro*Carto*Graphy (ACG), Obama's three Seventh House planets can be projected onto the global map, where they can pinpoint potential hotspots. As it happens, most of the usual suspects fall under the umbrella of Obama's ACG Uranus, Pluto, and Mars lines. His Pluto is at the Midheaven in North Korea, and his Pluto Ascendant line runs parallel to what was formerly known as the Iron Curtain in Eastern Europe.

In the all-important Middle East, Obama's Mars Ascendant line runs north-south right on the Iraq-Iran border. This line gets activated immediately, since transiting Uranus is opposing Obama's Mars. Consequently, this area will be at the top of his foreign policy agenda. When projecting this progressed Mercury-Mars conjunction onto the global map, it's on the Ascendant in Israel (but blocked by a square to Saturn). Another progression shaping up is a Venus-Uranus conjunction, which will be exact in July 2009. On the world map, this conjunction passes right through the middle of Pakistan and Afghanistan.
